Mrs. Pat Cox - Area 4
Having graduated from Palmetto High School, Pat Cox attended Anderson College. After leaving Anderson College, Mrs. Cox went to work at Greenville Water System where she worked until moving to Savannah, Georgia with her husband, Jim, and daughter, Teri. In 1971, she moved back to West Pelzer, SC with her husband, daughter, and newborn son for her husband’s job relocation.
In 1973 after her husband was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident, she returned to work at Pelzer Primary School. During her eight years at Pelzer Primary, she worked with Title I students. In 1982, she returned to work at Greenville Water System where she worked until retiring as Customer Service Director in 2006. During her employment at Greenville Water System, Pat was on the Board of the South Carolina Utility Billing Association and led workshops throughout the area of South Carolina and Virginia in customer service delivery. During the time on the Board she also held the position of President for the Association.
Currently Mrs. Cox is retired and enjoys spending time with her grandson, Christian, in Pendleton and granddaughter, Mavis, in West Columbia. For sixteen years, Pat has served on the nominating committee for Greenville Heritage Federal Credit Union. She was married for 52 years to Jim Cox, who passed away in March 2015. She also enjoys attending sporting events at Clemson University with her family.
Pat is honored to serve on the Anderson One School Board and states, “I realize that the students today are tomorrow’s leaders and the foundation they receive today through the school system will help them make good decisions in the future.”
