Parent - Teacher Organization
For those who may not know, the PTO is an organization of parents and teachers at Palmetto Elementary School. The PTO’s goal is to foster a nurturing and caring environment that strives to continue and grow our parent involvement in helping build a better educational environment for our children. We also promote a school community where teachers and administrators can do their best work with the resources we can provide and help to make school fun. Through membership dues and fundraising efforts, the PTO is able to donate funds, to purchase educational materials and equipment for the school, as well as being involved with school events such as Coffee with Grands, Cookies with Santa, Treats with Teachers, Mother/Son Kickball Game, and Daddy/Daughter Dance.
For the PTO to be effective, it is essential to have parental involvement from as many parents, grandparents, family and friends as possible. Many working parents feel that they cannot participate in the PTO because they cannot come to meetings or be at school during the day. There are endless possibilities of ways you can help, at school, at home and on weekends. Whatever level of flexibility, Palmetto Elementary School and the PTO always appreciate your parent involvement. Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, time, and talents are truly needed. As a volunteer, you will get to enjoy interacting with the kids, become friends with other parents, and accomplish things that truly make a difference in the lives of our children!
Membership is just $3 per child and $5 for a family and everyone is welcome! Keep in mind that you can still volunteer even if you are not a member.
Please come and join us, fill out the PTO Volunteer Form and return to your child’s teacher.
