AAEOP Scholarship

The Anderson Association of Educational Office Professionals (AAEOP) awards a scholarship of $500.00 annually to a high school senior. This scholarship is designed to assist business education students who wish to continue their education and pursue an office-related career, preferably in the educational field. The AAEOP will enter the recipient’s name in the National and State Association of Educational Office Professionals Scholarship competition.

CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1. Candidate must be a graduating high school senior and intend to continue his/her education in an office-related business program.

2. Candidate must have completed business education courses (four semesters) from among the following: keyboarding, computer classes, typing, shorthand, accounting, office practices and procedures,bookkeeping, and/or other business core classes.

3. Candidate must have maintained a "C" average or better in high school and a "B" average in high school business courses.

4. The candidate shall be responsible for the completion and return of all required support materials (see application).

5. The candidate shall be enrolled/expect to be enrolled as a full-time student in a post-secondary institution of higher education {two or four-year college or university, business school, or vocational-technical school} in the fall term following the granting of the scholarship.

6. Candidate must maintain a 2.8 GPA (4.0) for the one-year period of the scholarship.

7. Candidate must be a United States citizen and a resident of Anderson County.


APPLICATION

An application will be considered complete when the AAEOP Scholarship Committee has received the
following items:

1. Application for Scholarship. ALL items must be completed. Failure to complete the form in its entirety will result in disqualification.) (Forms provided by the AAEOP.)

2 High School Transcript. (Indicate class rank. The transcript shall not be an official document but must be from your school counselor. Please ask your counselor to include a copy of your senior year schedule.)

3. Three Letters of Recommendation. (Letters may be from school officials, teachers, former or present employers, or others who would describe the student's activities and leadership abilities, character, personality, initiative, and/or other factors supporting the applicant. Recommendations must be from non-family.)

5. One-Page Essay on "Why I Am Choosing an Office-Related Career or Vocation".


DETAILS

  • All applicants will be notified immediately after the judges' decision is final.

  • A certificate of the scholarship will be presented to the winner at the awards banquet.

  • A check will be issued to the winner only upon notification from an accredited school certifying that the winner is registered for the fall term.

  • Application materials must be POSTMARKED OR E-MAILED BY MARCH 31, 2022.
