Students in the Beta Club at Wren Middle School created a project in honor of their principal, Nicole Alford, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
The project is called 'Hurricane Strong: Team Alford.' Students collected items from local churches and the school and put together care bags for those going through chemotherapy. They delivered the bags to local cancer centers. The bags included various items such as pillows, blankets, chapstick, notebooks, and toothbrushes.
In each bag, there was also an encouraging note sharing Mrs. Alford's story along with a QR code for a website with inspirational quotes.
