Piedmont, S.C. - The Anderson School District One Board of Trustees has approved a bid to build the new elementary school, Oak Hill Elementary.
The $44 million bid for the project was approved during the May 28th board meeting.
The school will be located at 250 Oak Road in Piedmont. It will serve students and families in the Powdersville area in order to accommodate growth at Concrete Primary and Powdersville Elementary schools.
Crews are clearing the site and construction is slated to begin this summer.
Earlier this year, board members voted to name the new school Oak Hill Elementary after receiving input from parents and the community through a Google form sent to parents and community members in a newsletter and through social media. All of the submitted names were presented to the board for consideration. The selected name honors a former Oak Hill school in the area.
Oak Hill Elementary is expected to open in Fall 2026.
