Anderson One names Kelle Martin as the next principal of Powdersville Elementary

Powdersville, S.C. - Anderson School District One is pleased to announce Kelle Martin as the next principal of Powdersville Elementary School starting July 1, 2025. Martin will succeed Brenna Horn, who will transition to a new role as the principal of Oak Hill Elementary. 

An Anderson One graduate, Martin has more than 25 years of experience in education including over a decade at Powdersville Elementary, where she is the current assistant principal. Martin has also served as a reading coach at Powdersville Elementary. Before joining Anderson One, Martin taught 3rd and 5th grades in Pickens County. 

With years of leadership experience, Martin is dedicated to continuing the Tradition of Excellence at Powdersville Elementary as she steps into her new role. 

“I am honored and excited to be named the principal at Powdersville Elementary,” said Martin. “We have a wonderful staff and students with a supportive community. I look forward to continuing the Anderson One Tradition of Excellence at Powdersville Elementary.”

“Mrs. Martin has been an important part of the success at Powdersville Elementary School for more than a decade,” said Superintendent Dr. Seth Young. “With valuable leadership experience, Mrs.Martin is the perfect person to lead Powdersville Elementary as the school transitions to a traditional K-5 elementary school. I look forward to seeing the students and teachers continue to achieve academic excellence under Mrs. Martin’s leadership.”

Martin earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Winthrop University. She continued her education at Furman University where she received a master's degree in administration and supervision.
