The Palmetto High School Athletic Department is excited to announce the appointment of Timothy Broome as the new Athletic Director. Broome has taught and coached at Palmetto High School for twenty-three of his twenty-five-year career. He was formerly Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Football Coach.

Broome received a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Corporate Fitness from USC-Spartanburg and added an additional BS in Physical Education from Lander University. Broome also earned a Masters in Administration from Grand Canyon University.

When asked about being promoted to Athletic Director Coach Broome said, " I am honored and excited to have this opportunity. Being a resident, teacher, and coach at Palmetto for the last twenty-three years, I have a lot of pride and respect for Anderson One and Palmetto High School. As a former coach, current teacher, and parent of a graduate and current student, I pride myself on how Palmetto High School excels in both athletics and academics. I would like to thank Mr. Binnicker, the entire District Office Staff, the Anderson One Board of Trustees, and Mr. Roach for trusting me with this position. I look forward to working with the great coaching staff, student-athletes, the community, and our teachers in continuing our great traditions and making new ones! Go Mustangs!!"

Principal Robby Roach commented, “We’re very excited to welcome Coach Broome into a new role at Palmetto High School. He has consistently supported the administration and the athletic program here. In addition, he has demonstrated a willingness to pitch in whenever and wherever needed. I’m confident that Coach Broome will do a great job moving Palmetto athletics forward.”

Broome will officially begin his role on July 1. He will continue to work with students in the classroom, while also handling Athletic duties.
