April 7 - 11 is National Assistant Principals Week. Anderson School District One has an extraordinary team of administrators that assist their local school community as well as provide valued support to the district office also. Our faculty, staff and students are very appreciative of the job they do in our district.

National School Librarian Day has been designated for April 4, 2025
Anderson School District One is very appreciative of the incredible group of specialists we have who serve our students. The school community is extremely reliant on our school librarians to provide resources to our students, faculty, and staff throughout the school year. There is no list that could be complete with all the duties these individuals perform. Thank you for being an invaluable part of our "Tradition of Excellence".

Month of the Military Child is observed each April to honor and celebrate military children and youth for their service, commitment, and sacrifice in support of the Army's mission. The observance reiterates the Army’s commitment to provide quality care and positive youth development for a bright future. The April 2025 Month of the Military Child theme is “Celebrating Military Children and Youth: Building Stronger Character and Relationships.” Military children show bravery, fearlessness, and resiliency by adapting and meeting adversity head on in an ever-changing environment.

School Library Month is the American Association of School Librarians' celebration of school librarians and school libraries. Every April school librarians are encouraged to host activities to help their school and local community celebrate the essential role that strong school libraries play in transforming learning. The AASL efforts for a national School Library Month were spearheaded by Lucille Thomas, chair of the School Library Media Month Committee. Thomas was appointed by President Judy King in 1983. Their work came to fruition on April 1, 1985, when AASL officials, local and national dignitaries got the first School Library Month off to a rousing start with a ceremony on the west steps of the U.S. Capitol.

At next month's board meeting, we will be celebrating our high school seniors planning to pursue a career in education with a special signing day 📚 If you are an Anderson One senior who has been accepted into a teacher education program, please scan the QR Code or fill out this Google Form: https://forms.gle/iADCo5rdc53Q52uG8.
