Please Spread the Word,
The South Carolina Department of Administration (Admin) is working closely with Governor McMaster’s Office, the South Carolina Office of Resilience and the South Carolina Emergency Management Division to coordinate and conduct TeamSC County Days. TeamSC County Days provide a “one-stop shop” location for citizens to apply for federal and state assistance, receive critical information and services, and receive donated goods for those most impacted by Hurricane Helene. By selecting a centralized location, agencies and organizations can setup resource tables for citizens and a drive-through will be utilized for the distribution of donated goods.

Due to power outages and damages, Anderson School District One will have an eLearning Day on Monday, September 30. If you do not have access to power or internet, do not worry. Students have 5 days to complete eLearning work. Stay safe, everyone!
Updated Details about eLearning:
As a reminder, days that are classified as eLearning are separate from inclement weather days. eLearning Days are not required to be made up at the end of the school year. Anderson One knows that the vast majority of our students and teachers are without power and internet access. As such, ample time will be given to complete all assignments for eLearning Days. Please understand we have identified Monday, September 30 as an eLearning Day to allow for flexibility in making up the missed day of school.

Update from Anderson School District One:

Due to the anticipated weather impact from Hurricane Helene, Anderson School District One will have an eLearning Day on Friday, September 27.
Anderson One Families,
Out of an abundance of caution, Anderson School District One will have an eLearning Day on Friday, September 27 due to severe weather anticipated from Hurricane Helene. We plan to be on a regular schedule on Thursday, September 26, but Anderson One will be canceling any after-school activities on Thursday after 6:00 pm. At this time, we still plan to have after-school programs at our elementary schools and after-school tutoring at our high schools, but we will continue to monitor the weather throughout the day tomorrow.
The National Weather Service is predicting several inches of rain and extremely high winds for our area. There is also a chance of severe weather Thursday evening through late Friday morning.
Guidance from the South Carolina Department of Education states that school buses should not be in operation when sustained winds exceed 30mph or wind gusts exceed 40mph. Due to the wind speeds currently projected, it would be unsafe for buses to operate on the roads.
Administrators will closely monitor the weather on Friday to make the best decision regarding extracurricular activities scheduled for Friday evening and this weekend. These decisions will be made based upon several factors including the weather forecast, road conditions, and our ability to safely carry out the activity in the event of a power outage or other potential obstacles. The appropriate school personnel will do their best to communicate our plans promptly. Please check your school’s social media for more information about these specific events.
I hope you all stay safe during this weather event! Please see the guidelines below for the Anderson School District One Learning Days.
The following guidelines are in place to complete eLearning lessons:
Elementary School:
Assignments will be posted in Seesaw, and students have 5 school days to complete work.
Middle/High School:
Assignments will be posted in Google Classroom, and students have 5 school days to complete work.
Teachers will have the following office hours: 9:00-10:30 and 1:30-3:00. During this time, teachers will be available to answer questions via Seesaw messenger or email.
Sincerely,
Dr. Seth Young
Superintendent for Anderson One

Important new protocol from Broome High School, for those attending this Friday's football game there:
We have some new procedures in place for home football games, beginning with our game this Friday vs. Powdersville. These changes are made with the safety of our fans and spectators in mind. Spartanburg School District Three has implemented new security protocols that require Broome High School students and the visiting team's high school students to have a photo ID for entry. In addition, students 8th grade and below must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for entry and must remain with an adult for the duration of the game.
