At Spearman, we believe reading isn't just about books; it's about building future leaders and role models.
When our students engage with stories, they learn valuable life lessons and develop a sense of community. Let's continue to encourage our children to embrace reading and recognize its impact on their lives and the world around them.
Thank you to all the men within our community that came in this morning to help foster a culture of reading and community involvement by reading to our classrooms. Together, we can inspire the next generation, because Real Men read! ✨ #ReadingMatters #CommunityInvolvement #FutureLeaders

Over the past month, our Kindergarten class has been exploring two exciting themes - community helpers and apples!
Students have learned about the important roles that firefighters, police officers, doctors, and many other professionals play in supporting our community. They have been fascinated to learn about these vital jobs.
We also celebrated "Apple Day" with a variety of engaging activities. Students made apple pie play-doh, painted with apples, and ended the day with a delicious apple tasting. They loved exploring the different colors, shapes, and flavors of apples.
It has been a fun and enriching month of learning in Kindergarten!

Our Kindergarten classes had a wonderful visit from Miss South Carolina Teen! She read the book "Polly and the Screen Time Overload" to the students, which sparked great discussions about balancing technology use and spending quality time together with family and friends.
Her platform, #HangUpandHangOut, encourages students and families to be mindful of device usage and prioritize meaningful interactions. Events like this help reinforce these important messages in an engaging way for our young learners.
The students were thrilled to meet Miss South Carolina Teen and loved hearing the story.

Today, 5th graders had a blast celebrating the novel they just finished, "Home of the Brave." Students came dressed as their favorite characters and they did all kinds of fun activities centered around the book.
Of course, no celebration is complete without some of Kek's favorite American treats - French fries with ketchup, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate candies, and chocolate milk. The students devoured these delicious snacks and had the biggest smiles on their faces. Which went along great with what Kek thought - that chocolate made your mouth smile. 🍫

Updated Details about eLearning:
As a reminder, days that are classified as eLearning are separate from inclement weather days. eLearning Days are not required to be made up at the end of the school year. Anderson One knows that the vast majority of our students and teachers are without power and internet access. As such, ample time will be given to complete all assignments for eLearning Days. Please understand we have identified Monday, September 30 as an eLearning Day to allow for flexibility in making up the missed day of school.
Due to power outages and damages, Anderson School District One will have an eLearning Day on Monday, September 30. If you do not have access to power or internet, do not worry. Students have 5 days to complete eLearning work. Stay safe, everyone!
Due to the anticipated weather impact from Hurricane Helene, Anderson School District One will have an eLearning Day on Friday, September 27.
Our 2nd graders wrapped up their Place Value unit with an exciting Place Value Party! Students enjoyed a snack featuring ones, tens, and hundreds, and participated in games like Pin the Bow on the Clown, Mystery Picture Scoot the Room, and Balloon Pop. They even crafted Place Value Crowns!
